My daughter is 5-years-old. But if you ask her how old she is, she will happily inform you that she is “technically five and a half,” or “basically six,” depending on the day. Please imagine a somewhat adolescent tone to each statement.

Every night before I shut her door I pause and leave her with these three phrases:
