Two American Men Discuss Ukraine
We told one another we loved each other. Something men simply didn’t do in America, not that long ago.
Editorial Advisory: I do not, in any way, support Russian aggression against Ukraine. The small taste of war I experienced was enough to turn me away from it, forever. If nothing else, war is an absolute mess.
War is horrible and has a long reach. That is how it should be.
Horrible so we do all we can to avoid it. A long reach so others do all they can to avoid it. Right now the world is watching. And from where I sit, comfortably 5,267 miles away from the horrific realities in Ukraine, my people and I are being touched by this.
The responses within my circles to the situation in Ukraine have been all over the map. Here are the general camps I’m watching from:
- There are those who are paying particular attention to politics.
- There are those who are choosing to ignore or shield themselves from the crisis.
- Some of my people are capable and experienced wartime actors. They will take action should the opportunity present itself. And most of them are so ready because this is triggering their PTSD.
